The gang received their first set of vaccinations this weekend and all went well. The are fully weened now and eat twice a day on soft food. They still enjoy time with mom however they sure attack the food bowl when its chow time. Hard to believe that six weeks ago they were all 2 ounces, Gordito coming in at 4 ounces. Below are their six week weights which puts them on par with being anywhere from 2 - 4 lbs when they are at 18 months. This will easily put at least two of them in the teacup category, the other three at toy since they will likely be 3 & 4 lbs.
Gordito - 1.1 lbs
Charlie - 13 ounces
Willow - 13 ounces
Tika - 11 ounces
Toto - 11 ounces
Here are a few snapshots I took this evening.

Gordito: 5 Weeks
"GORDITO"
Born July 15th, Gordito was the largest of the litter; but even at birth he only weighed 2 ounces. Although we haven't weighed him since then, his birth weight places him at full size to be around the same as his momma Ziva, 4 lbs.
Gordito has maintained a steady growth rate being a little larger than his siblings, he is also the most active. He likes to chase around our other Yorkie "Rocco" (not the sire), for some reason Rocco seems to be afraid of the Gordito. All of the puppies will receive their first series of shot this weekend, so I will plan to post their 6 week weights that afternoon.

Yorkie Puppies at 5 Weeks
Puppies are five weeks today and getting bigger by the day. They are starting to teethe, so we decided to begin the weaning process; they get soft food twice a day, and momma Ziva feeds them in between. This week I hope to begin profiling one puppy per day along with a new portrait and finishing the week with a new video. This will help you view their weekly progress in the event you would like to adopt one. Their nicknames from biggest to smallest of the boys are Gordito, Charlie, and Toto, the girls are Willow and Tika.

These little guys are 4 weeks today and growing bigger each day, but still hard to tell them apart however Shari and the kids have them named. Hopefully within the next few weeks they will start developing unique personalities. Here is their four week portraits.
